Top 10 James Bond Country Locations

29 October 2012 | Features, Guest Posts, Other Lists | by David Zou

Throughout the fifty year history of the James Bond films, 007 has visited a huge list of places, and some of course are more memorable than others. Rather than try and pick ten of the best specific locations, in this article, I have chosen ten countries that bond has visited in which he has had some of his more memorable moments.

1 – ENGLAND

goldfinger golf

James Bond plays gold with goldfinger at Stoke Park Golf and Country Club in Buckinghamshire(Goldfinger)

At the top of the list though is always going to be England. With very few exceptions over the 33 official films, London has always featured in one way or another, even if it is only for a meeting with M in his (or her) office. However, there are other places in England that are worthy of mention. For example, who can forget the game of golf Bond plays with Goldfinger at his club. This took place at Stoke Park Golf and Country Club in Buckinghamshire. Staying in Buckinghamshire, Chalfont Park House was the venue which doubled as ‘Shrublands Health Resort’ where Bond overcooks Count Lippe in the Sitz bath, in Thunderball.

2 – JAMAICA

ursula-andress

The sexiest Bond girl ever - Ursula Andress emerges out of the sea in the Caribbean(Dr. No)

The second country on our list to visit is Jamaica in the Caribbean. The main reason that Jamaica is on the list is that this is the first location in the first James Bond film, Dr. No. in which we see the ‘Three Blind Mice’ shuffling their way through Kingston on their way to kill Strangway and his secretary. However, that wasn’t the only time Jamaica featured in a James Bond film. Kananga’s underground base in Live and Let Die was actually filmed at the Green Grotto Caves in Jamaica and this is where 007 takes care of Kananga by the strategic use of a bullet of compressed air. Once he swallows it Kananga inflates and explodes.

Me too,the reason LIVE AND LET DIE is my fave Bond film is mainly because of its exotic lacations and myths.
